Master Program Geosciences
Structure

Mandatory modules, 1rst year:

  • Master conference (3CP)
  • Analyse geologischer Prozesse im Gelände (Exkursion + Kartierkurs, 12 CP)

Compulsory elective modules, 1rst year:
3 out of 7 core subjects

  • Kernfach Paläontologie/Geobiologie (2 Module; 15 CP)
  • Kernfach Petrologie (2 Module; 15 CP)
  • Kernfach Sedimentologie (2 Module; 15 CP)
  • Kernfach Hydrogeologie (2 Module; 15 CP)
  • Kernfach Geophysik (2 Module; 15 CP)
  • Kernfach Ingenieurgeologie/Geotechnik (2 Module; 15 CP)
  • Kernfach Glaziologie (2 Module; 15 CP)

It is possible to replace one of the three core subjects from the Master`s program Marine Geosciences or by choosing 15 CP from the Master`s program Environmental History. As some courses are partly identical and as it is not allowed to register for the same course twice, some module combinations are prohibited. Prohibited combinations for 2016/17 can be found on the form-sheet for your core subject choice under downloads. Courses from Master Environmental History opened for geoscientists are listed in the course catalogue.

  • Geoscientific project exercise (15 CP)
  • geoscientific research seminar (15 CP)

  • Master thesis (30 CP)
