On March 20, 2026, Professor Hajo Eicken will take over as scientific director of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI). Born in Bremerhaven, he received his doctorate in 1990 from the Department of Geosciences at the University of Bremen. Until 1997, he worked at the Alfred Wegener Institute in the field of oceanic and atmospheric physics.more »
Dr. Lisa Eberhard has been awarded the Paul Niggli Medal 2025 We warmly congratulate Dr. Lisa Eberhard from the Mineralogy Working Group on being awarded the Paul Niggli Medal 2025.
