The first lecture will be given by Dr. Manuel Menzel from the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Instituto Andaluz de Ciencias de la Tierra, Granada in Spain.

His research focuses on the study of fluid-rock interactions from near surface to high pressure conditions and he will talk about " CO2-fluid-rock interactions in peridotites - from surface to mantle".

The second talk will be given by Dr Elmar Albers from the Marine Geology & Geophysics Department, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, USA.

His research interests are in fluid-rock interactions at mid-ocean ridges, seamounts, and in shallow parts of subduction zones and he will talk about "Fluid-rock reactions and their implications, from seafloor spreading to subduction".
